The search is on for former arts commissioners.
This year’s arts commissioners have decided to hold the first art gallery exhibit, featuring items from a past commissioner or their collection.
However, the current commission is still trying to get in contact with many of the past members.
“There is still about nine years we don’t have,” chairwoman Susan Honda said. “We don’t want to offend anyone. I am really worried about hurting someone’s feelings.”
The exhibit will run from May 20 through July 17 at the Federal Way City Hall Gallery.
Already, there have been eight former commissioners who have volunteered their art for the show. However, the commission would like to make sure that every past commissioners’ art is included if they wish.
Art suitable for the exhibit includes oils, acrylics, mixed media, watercolor and photography.
Commissioners can bring up to four pieces of their artwork.
The commission needs a response by May 1.
