“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” will run 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday (Aug. 14-15) with a final performance at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16.
Joseph, sold as a slave by his brothers, has the ability to explain people’s dreams. When the Pharaoh calls on him to breakdown his dream, Joseph predicts a famine and is made the Pharaoh’s secondhand man. Joseph’s brothers come to him for relief during the famine, and Joseph puts them to the test to see if they have changed.
The show is part of the Summer Youth Musical Theatre Program and takes place at the Knutzen Family Theatre, 3200 SW Dash Point Road, Federal Way. This production is the final show of the Summer Youth Musical Theatre Program run by Holly Rose. Under Rose’s direction, this program has grown from 12 kids (in one show) in 2005 to more than 70 kids (in four shows) in 2009. Rose and her artistic partner, Brian Soushek, are planning to continue the program at another location next summer.
