Cabaret 2011: The Decatur High School Concert Choir will present a dinner theater event, Cabaret 2011, at 5:30 p.m. March 11. The event will be held in Decatur’s performing arts center, and the choir will perform while audience members dine. There will also be a live auction to support the choir’s entry into the May Heritage Musical Festival in Anaheim, Calif. The event will be hosted by KIRO radio host Dave Ross; there will be a silent and live auction. Tickets are $20 per person; all food is provided by Gino’s Bistro. Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. The choir will also perform on March 10, but without dinner or an auction. Free live jazz: Tom Grant, a pianist/vocalist based in Portland, Ore., will perform a jazz concert at 5 p.m. March 13 at Marine View Church, 8469 Eastside Dr. NE, Tacoma. Joining him will be his longtime friend and exceptional bass player David Captein, the versatile Jeff Frankel on drums and special guest Renato Caranto on saxophone.
