I’m with Federal Way High School and our football team is now 10-0, undefeated all season long and in the playoffs.

For multiple weeks as our team went unbeaten and continued to succeed, the Federal Way Mirror didn’t really highlight as much as they could have to dig deeper into our school.

Instead, Thomas Jefferson High School has continued to be the focus of the sports section of your newspaper. Even when we beat them, they were a huge focus with two large photos.

I have to wonder why during other losses as well, they were a continued focus in the paper above other things that an undefeated Federal Way High School was accomplishing.

I understand TJ has a team that also has accomplished something this year that they haven’t in a while, but it’s time that Federal Way receives the acknowledgement that it deserves.

The school’s football team is really special this year and doing something that hasn’t been done in 35 years.

There is a great story there if you take the time to dig in and then highlight it so people can better appreciate Federal Way High School for the great programs and students that we have — on and off the field.

This means more than just contacting our school when you hear it’s grading period time and you want to know how many of our students are ineligible.
