Where has she been? I mean, Karen Backman. I have not seen any of her letters for a long time.
Now she has an interesting letter in the Dec. 29 issue of The Mirror. If you did not see it, I urge you to go back and read it. She accuses Republicans of all sorts of bad things. She accuses Republicans and Wall Street of “greedily eyeing the $2.6 trillion Social Security savings account.” If you believe there is a $2.5 trillion savings account for Social Security, then maybe you would also believe some of her other accusations.
Backman seems to be in love with Rep. Adam Smith. She thanks him for being “fiscally responsible” in his voting. I hope she remembers that Adam Smith voted for Cap and Trade. Had that become law, it would have meant disaster for our country. We would be in fiscal shambles and even Karen Backman might have started to wonder where she went wrong.
Karen, keep writing. Your letters are entertaining.
