Absorbed in making a living and raising our four children, my husband and I hadn’t paid much attention to issues beyond our public schools, national issues, and our children’s activities and future goals.
Had we been involved in almost any other major city activities, we would have met Diana Noble-Gulliford much sooner than we did. When we finally did meet Diana for the first time at “Making of America” classes held at the public library, we were impressed.
We watched as Diana quietly sat week after week absorbing information and listening with great interest, learning as much as she possibly could. As we studied the Constitution and the free market economic system in America, her penetrating attention, solid and balanced perspective, respectful and supportive demeanor, and quiet humility impressed us greatly, but we had no idea that she has the extensive experience and interest in our community that she does.
It was clear that she was there because she truly wanted to learn more. And now we know why — so she could continue to serve her community in ways crucial to its future success.
In subsequent conversations, we realized that she knows much. Her quiet commitment, conviction to basic time proven principals, and her open receptivity to us, to valuable new ideas, and to all in her community speak clearly in favor of her remaining on the city council of Federal Way.
From the Planning Commission and Land Use Committee, to the Veterans Day observance and future veterans memorial planning activities, to her work in initiating St. Frances Hospital and West Hylebos Park, to her involvement in Boy Scouts and her local PTSA and her presidency of the Historical Society, the list goes on and on.
Her extensive vision for a vibrant community based upon sound economic principals and her ability to stick to them is invaluable. Last year she was appointed to our city council. It is quite obvious to us why she was chosen among the best. We will definitely be voting for Diana Noble-Gulliford for Federal Way City Council Position No. 6. Please join us!
