(RE: “Left for dead by pirates: a Federal Way man’s story of survival”): Please tell Jeff Do, “You bet your life has purpose: To show the world what real courage looks like and inspire the rest of us.”
I don’t have the foggiest idea of the origin or the meaning of Jeff Do’s surname, but reading about him, I’m convinced he’s aptly named. He’s a “Do’er” for sure. America is a great country and the Vietnamese people have contributed to its greatness in no small way. If anyone doubts it, just look around at the evidence, it’s everywhere.
An example is the many businesses owned and operated by this hard working, proud minority. I doubt there’s anyone that doesn’t like Vietnamese cuisine. My dentist is a second generation Vietnamese citizen. And let’s not forget the six Vietnamese writers, winners of last year’s Hellman/Hammett award, which recognizes courage in the face of political persecution.
These are just a few, a mere sampling of the contributions Vietnamese people are making wherever they choose to reside.
