The reasons I support Jim Ferrell for mayor | Election letters

This letter is to the community of Federal Way. Many of you may not know Jim Ferrell as I do. I want to share with you the reason I stand out on the street corner every cold morning and afternoon, holding a campaign sign for Ferrell for Mayor.

We don’t all share the same vision for our city. Ten years ago, my alarm with the spending habits of our city council led me to want to help make a change. I was introduced to Jim as someone who may be interested in running for a seat on the council. Jim shared with me his vision, and I knew he had the sensible qualities I would like to see in city office.

Much to my surprise, he brings so much more to the table.

Jim is intelligent, always using a fair analysis of matters before him. But more than that, Jim is a caring and honest person. For those of you who were not at his campaign kickoff, I wish you could have heard the heartfelt testimonials from friends, people he has worked with and people he has worked for. It was quite obvious that everyone he comes in contact with in any capacity, subordinate or peer, male or female, feels the same about this man as I do.

Jim brings to every situation, or problem, a positive attitude and a smile. He’s a happy guy with a great attitude. He views every challenge as an opportunity and will tackle any situation with zeal. I have never heard Jim speak ill of anyone. Instead, he finds something positive to say about everyone.

Yeah, yeah, I know. He doesn’t walk on water, but darn close, in my estimation. I would be most proud to have him as a son. Should he become mayor of Federal Way, I promise you, you will not be sorry.
