This letter is to let you know how much sports editor Casey Olson and his work are appreciated.

He has spent so much time reporting on sports of all levels happening here in Federal Way, from Little League to high school and everything in between.

While all kids (and parents) love to see their name in print and maybe even be lucky enough to get a photo, the edition featuring Special Olympics basketball on Feb. 1 brought more smiles than I think all the other articles combined(at least in my house).

My son was one of the lucky ones to get the front page photo and I’ve never seen him so proud. He carried it around for a few days to show it off and keeps a copy next to his bed. He even autographed it when asked. Cody loves basketball and this was the icing on the cake.

Thanks, Casey, for bringing awareness to the large population of kids that play Special Olympics sports here in Federal Way. Looking forward to more stories featuring our special kids.
