Why I like Eide
Tracey Eide is the best choice for State Senator. Mrs. Eide is a dedicated member of our community, mother, wife and small business owner. Eide cares deeply about this community and it shows. In the past 10 years as our state Senator, she has sponsored or co-sponsored numerous bills. Among these are the intermediate teen drivers license, hands free cell phone use while driving, and the simple majority for school bonds. Senator Eide was also elected Majority Leader of the Senate in 2005 and has received numerous endorsements which range from the Washington State Patrol, to the South King County Firefighters, to Microsoft and Weyerhaeuser to the League of Education Voters. This proves the wide range of citizens who believe in and support Mrs. Eide. I urge you to cast your vote for Tracey Eide and allow her to work for us.

Support for Kalchik’s American Dream
When I was the teacher-librarian at Wildwood Elementary, I got to know a bright young man and his family. Paul Kalchik supported his school library as an avid reader, and later politically to improve funding for school libraries across the state when he worked for the Washington State Senate and joined us at the Fund Our Future Libraries reception at the Legislature with Sam Reed and Skip Priest. I am very proud to have been a part of young Paul Kalchik’s education. We met again sign waving at the corner of 320th and Pacific Highway campaigning for his father, Anthony Kalchik.
Anthony Kalchik didn’t win his campaign to represent the 30th District in the state Legislature. But he has all the spunk and can-do attitude I have come to know and admire in his son as he campaigns again to represent our community. He is a very smart hard-working father and businessman with a lot of heart. He deserves your support and your vote in the Aug. 17 primary election.
I am asking for your support because I truly believe Anthony Kalchik represents the grass-roots of our community. He comes from the Ukraine, where my grandfather came from at the turn of the 20th century. He came to the U.S. with literally the clothes the family had on their backs and small valises of their most beloved possessions. He came because he believes in freedom: The freedom to work hard and prosper, the freedom to worship God in his own way, and the ability to provide a quality public education for his children.
