I am actually writing about another problem not just in Federal Way, but statewide: Garbage and litter.
Our community and state has become very ugly and far from the “evergreen” state we claim to be, by the amount of litter and garbage all over!
I started collecting garbage over a year ago, around my neighborhood, and have collected over 100 large garbage bags within a mile radius of my home. It just continues to be thrown all over and with no remorse.
What happened to misdemeanor crime offenders doing community service picking up garbage? Or what happened to groups such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, churches, community service workers and schools having a day of picking up garbage?
If even 25 to 50 individuals or small groups picked an area in Federal Way to focus on for two to six hours on any given day and collect garbage, it could truly make a huge difference for this community.
Any other suggestions? (We need) even just awareness, like we have had over the years, by signs or advertisements about keeping our community green by picking up litter!
