On behalf of the Kiwanis Club of Federal Way, I want to thank the community of the greater Federal Way area for your generous support of the 55th Annual Kiwanis Salmon Bake on July 29.
This event has spanned the development of the greater Federal Way community and the creation of the City of Federal Way itself. Without your support, it would be difficult to raise the funds necessary to continue our subsequent mission of “changing the world one child and one community at a time.”
In our community, we are unified in our belief that children and their communities benefit from the effects of a proficient group of caring and involved volunteers.
A special thanks to Jeff Stock and Todd Suchan from Wild Waves for their major sponsorship role this year. Wild Waves obviously believes in our community and it shows. We were very proud of our partnership with the City of Federal Way and more than pleased to be a recipient of a Community Enhancement Grant. Thanks to the Federal Way Mirror for their support and to Cafe Pacific for their wonderful food. Countless others supported our event including the South King Firefighters Foundation, Mulit-Service Center, King County Councilman Pete von Reichbauer, Heritage Bank, Jimmy Mac’s Roadhouse Grill, Vilma Signs, James Chaffee and Raymond James Financial, New Hope Church and Poverty Bay Coffee.
Our event embodies the spirit of the community and I hope we continue the next 55 years!
Gordie Olson, President–elect, Kiwanis Club of Federal Way
