Recently I wrote about my number one reason for supporting Jim Ferrell for mayor of Federal Way. e listens. Ready for another reason? Ferrell is a public servant that takes his position on the city council very seriously, even in an adversary climate.

Ferrell’s “special interests” are our interests. He understands that one of his most important roles as an elected official is to support the wishes of the majority of Federal Way’s citizens. (I repeat, the majority of our citizens). I applaud him for that because before Ferrell became a council member, our citizens’ concerns were not often heard. I mean, really heard. Jim researches the issues, evaluates them and makes sound decisions based on supportive facts. He does not cave in to adversaries on every issue. And, when he disagrees with citizens’ wishes, he tells us why he does.

He is intelligent, principled and earnest. Those are qualities we want in a mayor for our city.
