It’s evident The Mirror has taken a hard right turn since your publisher came to town. Political slant of your paper is your prerogative. It is also our right as readers to let you know when we don’t care for what you do.

The Firearms Lawyer is little more than a self-righteous right-wing demagogue who regularly espouses conservative Fox Entertainment pabulum taken directly from the zealots who pollute the airwaves with nonstop lies, manipulation and distortion. Knapp consistently parrots the nonsense of the neoconservative ideologues who offer nothing but hate and venom. They claim to love their country unlike the rest of us, the Constitution and God. Their actions blatantly contradict the labels they attach to themselves. Hypocrisy and self-indulgence are their true stripes.

The Tea Party is an outright fraud and made up of people who want their Social Security, Medicare, farm subsidies and other government benefits and programs but since they got theirs, screw everybody else. Yes, there are racistd and bigots that are part of the Tea Party and the right wing in general. That doesn’t mean they all are, but a fair share of them are. The election of a black president has brought out the worst in some. They have manufactured a reverse discrimination hysteria to make white people afraid of the blacks who are coming to get them. They aren’t just racist toward blacks though. They are blatantly racist against Hispanics, Muslims and any other bogeyman they can dream up and use to scare seniors and other vulnerable people. It should be shameful, but the current GOP and Tea Party have shown they have no shame.

The upcoming midterm election is probably one of the most important votes in modern history. It will define the true character and values of our country. We will see if the pundits are right in their prediction Democrats will be swept from power and the Palin/Beck/Limbaugh/Knapp extremists take over. Frightening thought.

If The Mirror insists on regularly featuring the Neanderthal Firearms Lawyer and his skewed view of the world, perhaps some benevolent soul should revive the Federal Way News so that we would have a more balanced view of the world.
