We the people are tired of hearing the story “we need more revenue.” Aren’t the public servants supposed to serve the people? How can they get paid two to four times what the average person gets paid? No way a mayor should get paid over $60,000 a year (and that would be plenty). How much do council members get paid? If it’s over $50,000 a year, it’s too much! What about the governor? Senators? Probably way too much! All the taxes we pay are not for the pockets of the servants of the people. The quick fix for the budget would be to cut the pay of these overpaid positions. I bet if we cut the max pay for all government positions to $50,000 per year, we would get some people in there that really care about the people and not the money.
