I am very happy that we have the Performing Arts and Event Center in Federal Way as we can enjoy various entertainments without driving to Seattle or Tacoma. The PAEC also attracts out-of-towners into Federal Way to shop and dine before attending a performance.

I attended the council’s Finance/Economic Development and Regional Affairs Committee meeting in May and was pleased to learn that during the first quarter of 2019 (compared to first quarter of 2018) total theater attendance had increased 52%, event space attendance increased 35%, gross ticket revenues increased 43.5% and gross event space and theater rental revenue increased 185%. I didn’t read about this in the Mirror so I wanted to let you know about it.

This is wonderful news for those of us who live in Federal Way and know that the PAEC will attract both out-of-towners and residents and bring additional tax dollars to our downtown.
