Mayor race: Is Federal Way for sale to ‘insiders?’ | Federal Way letters

According to the PDC report by Friends to Elect Jim Ferrell, they accepted a contribution by John Foley, owner of Timeout Alehouse in Federal Way of $500 on April 20, 2010.

Jim Ferrell supported and voted for a reduction in gambling tax for pull tabs on June 15, 2010.

Then on June 22, 2010, the PDC report by Friends to Elect Jim Ferrell, they accepted another contribution by John Foley of $200, which adds up to $700 in total contributions to Jim Ferrell’s campaign for mayor by John Foley.

This is the kind of politics that citizens are fearful of for our city.

Jim Ferrell is an attorney, and should have recused himself from the vote.

To absolutely show blatant disregard about his vote and disregarding ethics and probably campaign laws is very troublesome at the very least.

This is especially sad to me because Councilman Jim Ferrell made the motion in early March of 2010 to accept a campaign contribution limitations ordinance which acknowledges that the everyday people who are trying to make a positive difference in Federal Way need to have a louder voice than the special interest group or businesses.

How will Jim handle such situations as Mayor if elected?

Is Federal Way really for sale to a few ‘insiders’
