My family is fourth generation Federal Way(ans) and we really, like so many of you, care about what’s happening to our city. That is why we’ll be voting for Jim Ferrell for mayor.
Several weeks ago I attended the mayoral debate in Federal Way High School’s little theater, neither Mike Park nor Linda Kochmar could express their points in a concise, professional, and articulate manner when responding to questions.
Skip Priest when asked about issues concerning the city of Federal Way was not yet up-to-speed regarding current issues, yet he represents Federal Way in Olympia and resides in Federal Way. If candidates have problems being unprepared for an important debate what will they be like when they become mayor?
Jim Ferrell on the other hand was confident and able to articulate the issues into what he will do if elected mayor for our city. He is honest, intelligent, hard working and forthcoming which is why I’m voting for Jim Ferrell.
If you want to see positive changes in the future of our city such as less crime, more jobs, better education, stop in the waste of our tax dollars, support for small business owners and respect of all constituents, you must come to the same conclusion that Jim Ferrell is the most qualified candidate.
Jim’s against moving the 320th library to the relatively new transit station where the crime has headlined our local paper and wants to put a police transit facility in order to curb crime.
He was against the five lanes of freeway traffic that was to go through the pristine Steel Lake Park, which I recently heard that Linda Kochmar would like to revisit.
And do we really need skyscrapers in a city during a recessionary time when both Seattle and Tacoma are seeing massive foreclosures and empty buildings within their own city limits? Jim says no and I agree with him.
If you want to continue to see the city of Federal Way become more dilapidated looking and less revitalized and waste millions of tax payer’s dollars on frivolous projects (e.g. Steel Lake freeway proposal, skyscrapers…) continue to vote for individuals such as Mike Park, Linda Kochmar and Skip Priest.
You’re voting for the future of Federal Way in Federal Way’s first elected mayoral race. Please vote Jim Ferrell for mayor.
