It’s never too early to plan for the fall of 2014. Fall. A time to take stock. A time to celebrate one’s bounty and plan for one’s future. A time to give thanks for all of one’s blessings.
Fall of 2014 will be all that and more at the home of the Eagles. Fall of 2014 is the projected date to break ground on the new Federal Way High School.
In anticipation of this exciting groundbreaking event, Federal Way High School is forming a “Legacy Committee.” Like the fall season, this group will identify ways to celebrate the life and times of the 18,000-plus amazing graduates who have roamed the halls of this school since 1938.
Tasks of this group will include identifying legacy items to be moved and integrated into the new building — like the majestic Eagle, the Victory Bell, and Athletic Hall of Fame.
This group will identify the beloved traditions and events at Federal Way High School that need to continue during the construction process and be reintroduced into the new building. This group will plan ways alumni can share their memories of Federal Way High School. This group will plan an organized event for current students and staff, former staff, alumni, and community members to celebrate these cherished memories of the building and an organized way to say goodbye to the building.
If you would like to be a part of the Legacy Committee, please contact Federal Way High School at (253) 945- 5401. We will get your name and contact information to the chair of our Legacy Committee, Ingrid Lyden.
If you have any ideas or suggestions for this committee, please email lgriebel@fwps.org. We are excited for our new building, but want to respect and preserve the memories of all who have experienced high school life at Federal Way High School since 1938.
