Since nobody on the school board has replied to my email, I assume that my concern is of no interest.

Yawn.

I did read in the news about Tony Moore resigning as Federal Way School Board president and the $60,000 that has been spent on trips to “benefit the children.”

In this current state of financial affairs, I have to say “not a priority.”

Rest assured, as a citizen for 27 years in this community, having voted yes in all school levies and being an active PTA parent and avid school supporter in the past, I will be spearheading a “vote no” campaign for school levies for the next election.

I did not vote yes to spend my money on junkets to Europe as class sizes continue to grow, educator workloads continue to expand, and box tops continue to be cut to buy school supplies.

Until every school board member who participated in this egregious spending is replaced, I will continue this crusade.

I have copied David Brower, principal at Decatur High School, in the interest of letting him know that the teachers and educators just took a big hit by their school board in the public eye through this wasteful spending. Maybe if he feels the same, we can get some boots on the ground to change this behavior before it’s too late and educators lose future community investment in schools.
