Four individuals, to date, have thrown their hats into the ring for the position of strong mayor of Federal Way.

I’ve met them all and the truth is, I like all of them.

But, let me tell you why I have chosen to support Jim Ferrell for the position. Ferrell listens! I mean, he really listens! We’ve all met politicians who, on the surface, are bright, dedicated individuals. What they’ve all learned to do best is smile and, seemingly, to listen to our concerns. But think about it…how do they vote? Have they voted the issues the way you would want them to? The way you and others have asked them to? Nope! More often than not, they do not. They vote their own special interests. Ferrell was elected to the council, by the people, to do the people’s business. We pay his salary to do just that. And that is exactly what Jim has delivered the seven-plus years he has been on our city council. Too often he has been the lone vote representing our wishes. You speak, he listens! Novel, eh?

Isn’t that the kind of honest, public serving individual you would want to head our wonderful city? Give it some thought, seek him out, talk to him. I urge you to.
