I recently read an article in The Mirror, “City embarks on path toward energy efficiency” (June 13).
I would like to express my opinion after reading about how our city is looking for ways to cut its energy consumption. I was honestly shocked that it is only now that we have decided to begin this. This movement has been going on for some years now, and only today are we “embarking” on this? I am surprised.
However, there is always the expression “better late than never.” It is encouraging to see that our local government is beginning to take steps in the right direction. Also, I am gladdened to see that Puget Sound Energy is working with the city to give us rebates depending on how much energy we can save.
