Get rid of the bad people who use guns | Letter

I would like to agree with Karen Hedwig Backman’s June 20 letter. She cites how many people are killed by guns. I assume she would be happy if no one had a gun. I would like to agree. Many people are killed by guns.

Recently, I was in Washington, DC and visited the World War II memorial. In that memorial, there is a wall of stars. Each star represents 100 soldiers killed. There are 4,000 stars. I assume that most were killed by guns.

So if we want to stop all this killing, we must get rid of guns. Unfortunately, if we want to stop all this killing, we must first get rid of all the bad people who use the guns. I don’t think that is possible. To protect ourselves on a personal level as well as on a national level, we must still have guns. Karen Hedwig Backman, I must disagree with you.
