Thank you, S. Petersen, for the letter to the editor about the new traffic light on Dash Point Road (June 20). It is, as you said, a pain in the neck. Everything is OK most of the time, but when it’s not, it’s a nuisance.

As one who was at the head of the line waiting (seems like forever) for the signal to change to green, it was tempting to “run the light.” But, that’s against the rules, of course. I could see as I was heading toward Pacific Highway, the lineup of cars waiting to make a right turn off of Pacific Highway onto Dash Point Road. I’m glad the light is there for people coming from Redondo Way South and 16th Avenue South. However, someone should fix the problem of traffic tie-ups.
