I first met Roger Freeman at an event that Nandell Palmer hosted for fatherless children in the Federal Way area.
At that event, Nandell, Roger, myself and a few other gentlemen helped a group of young men with issues from what to wear for a job interview to giving free haircuts to handing out items such as ties, socks and deodorant.
It was a very humbling experience that gave me a satisfying feeling that we could do something positive in the lives of our youths and our community, especially the young people that do not have anyone to show them the rules of this game called life.
The next time I saw Roger, he stopped by a barber shop that I owned to spread the news that he was running for city council. I remember because it was especially hot and he was working on some of his signs in the parking lot. I offered him to come in and work on them in the air conditioning. I can’t help but want to support a person that isn’t afraid to do his own work and his part in the community. Any person that can give their time to kids in need of direction, any person that fights to keep families together, any person that leads by example and gets his/her hands dirty and understands what the community needs from the bottom up has my devout support. That is why I support Roger Freeman.
