Federal Way man shot in armpit by pellet gun | Letters

I was recently researching laws regarding pellet guns and their discharge within city limits of Federal Way. This past week, I was shot in the lower armpit by two young teenagers as I was driving by a golf course ready to make a left turn. The teenagers admitted to the action and prosecution intentions will be forthcoming this week.

All I can tell you from my experience is that it is scary and could have cost me, and possibly someone else, much more serious consequences. I personally do not condone ownership of firearms, pellet guns or whatever. I am not a paranoid person, but since this past week, I have felt extremely uneasy and unsafe. I am not sleeping well and have not ventured out.

I am a 60-year-old male and have seen and been through much in my life. But the irresponsibility of parents and their dismissal of their own responsibility for their kids’ actions appalls me.

I hope your educational forum at the library will actually provide some real information to ignorant people.
