On March 16, you published a letter titled “Driver sees flashes in school zone.”
I responded, as I received a photo ticket form this zone, and the letter described my car and the time he camera flashed me. You were kind enough to give me the name of Matt Sato, the Good Samaritan who wrote you this letter.
I was able to contact Mr. Sato and he wrote me a letter that confirmed this article.
At my hearing on Friday, May 12, I submitted a copy of The Mirror article along with the letter from Mr. Sato, and my reason for proceeding because the light was still green. The reason for my notice of determination was dismissed.
At the court, I noticed a few other people who received tickets from the same zone. I believe it is wrong to have the camera there. I’ve lived at this address for 32 years and most people know the school is there, and most of us know how to be cautious when driving in the school zone.
Not many people would come forward to offer help such as this, and I am very grateful to Mr. Sato and The Mirror for publishing it.
