Photocops…I obey the law, but these things scare me and others I have talked with. Even a T.V. announcer said they scare him! Are they for speeders, or “light jumpers,” or both?

As I approach a green light and am too close to stop because if I do I would stop over the “line” actually in the intersection, yet I cannot get to the other side by the time the orange goes to red. So I go with a heavy feeling — did that bloody up, I could perhaps get a ticket for speeding? If I stopped suddenly, I run the chance of the person rear-ending me. Can’t win!

These lights at orange should be of longer duration, or an even better idea — the orange should flash for 3 seconds and then turn to steady orange for a few seconds prior to red.

This is how it is done in Europe. Also, the size of the intersection (distance) has to be taken into consideration. In other words, as it is set up right now, we are encouraging a lot of rear-enders and this is just an unfair money making proposition and extremely unfair to the driver.

But, if done fairly, this is a good idea. But at present, it puts the driver on the defensive and it causes worry. Changes are needed here. Citizens of the city do not need to be put under this stress because of too short yellow times. Feels like we are the money makers/bags of the city — then the insurance companies put their mitts out. We cannot win under this current setup.
