I reflect how deeply my gratitude extends for the unmatched generosity received when the lovely Steel Lake Park was freely gifted, in perpetuity, to the citizens of Federal Way.

Therefore I understand the city council legacy builders’ joyful anticipation of the celebration of their tax-purchased legacy, the Celebration Park sports fields. I extend my heartiest congratulations.

And, because these are such huge assets for us all, for our own edification, it would probably be a good idea if we all closed our eyes for a few seconds and quietly envisioned five lanes of freeway traffic going straight through the middle of the sports fields 24/7, with their attendant freeway noise and miasma of freeway calibre exhaust fumes. We are indeed lucky and have much to be thankful for.
