The hills are clothed in sadness,
Painful tears running down the face,
Four more cops cut down in anger,
What’s wrong with the human race?
We all cry out with questions,
Why anyone should have to die,
Searching our hearts for solace,
And seeking for answers why!
Thoughts cutting within our soul,
And looking for guidance clear,
To give us hope to continue on,
As we greet a brand new year;
The human heart is fragile,
And yet it beats still strong,
As long as there are those who LOVE,
We shall fight each day, any wrong;
We shall embrace each other in our care,
And send us on our way,
And pray our God’s protection,
As we journey another day.
