With two weeks left until election day, there are many groups out talking to voters on behalf of both candidates in the race for state representative in the 30th District. Because this is a special election and the only hotly contested legislative race in the state, there is an intense focus on the outcome.

I know many of you have been contacted by outside groups in support of both candidates. Due to campaign finance laws, my campaign is not allowed to speak to or coordinate with these groups regarding their efforts.

I want to assure you that we have asked our volunteers to be respectful, courteous and polite to everyone they meet in our neighborhoods. I can only ask that outside groups follow the same guidelines when talking with voters.

I know that because there is so much interest from outside of the district, you may receive multiple contacts. My campaign is working hard to keep track of the number of contacts we make, never knock on your doors too late and never contact voters in the middle of a Seahawks game! Again, we ask other groups to do the same.
