320th Library history: Council didn’t cave | Federal Way letters

(Re: Online comments from Sebos printed in the April 6 edition):

The Federal Way City Council did not “cave in” to “a vocal minority” when it finally decided not to support moving the 320th Library to the Transit Center.

What the council did do was honor the wording of the March 2004 King County Rural Library District Resolution 2004-03, Exhibit A, which passed as Proposition 1 in September 2005.

It specifies replacement/expansion of the 320th Library on the current site. KCLS handouts distributed in Federal Way before the election also specified the 320th Library “replacement on the current site.” The voters got the message and the council did too.
