Wild Waves Theme Park in Federal Way hosted a tree lighting ceremony Dec. 2.

Employees built the tree, which stands 27 feet high and is illuminated with 2,200 bulbs. It is suspended from the Wild Thing roller coaster and can be seen by drivers along Interstate 5. Federal Way Mayor Skip Priest and King County Councilman Pete von Reichbauer flipped the tree’s light switch in a short ceremony. The theme park plans to bring back its Holiday With Lights for the 2012 season.
