Skateboarding teen impresses local company with axle design

A student of Lakota Middle School in Federal Way has made waves in the skating community.

The student, Emanuel (Christian) Oshitoye, conceptualized a new design for a skateboard part — the trucks (axles) of the board.

After destroying many axles during romps with his friends, he thought of a better way to design the product. PCSI Design in Bothell heard about Oshitoye’s idea from his mother and decided to step in.

The company helped Oshitoye with the design and produced a live model from his ideas.

Oshitoye impressed PCSI so much that he has already been offered an internship there next summer.

Oshitoye was honored at an assembly on Dec. 18, where students at Lakota Middle School were shown the live model.
