The chain is known as a haven for home decor, arts and crafts, floral items, fabric, needle art, custom framing, baskets, home accents, wearable art, jewelry, scrapbooking and paper crafting supplies.

The Federal Way store measures nearly 60,000 square feet and is located in the former Joe’s Sporting Goods at South 348th Street and Enchanted Parkway South.

Hobby Lobby employs 65 people, said store manager Jenny Bergstrom, adding that the site was transformed from an empty building to the craft store in just 12 days.

The first Hobby Lobby opened in 1972 in Oklahoma City, and has since grown to 525 stores nationwide. The Federal Way branch is Hobby Lobby’s seventh store in Washington. Store hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and all Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sunday. Visit hobbylobby.com.
