A local Greater Federal Way Chamber of Commerce leader is bringing her experience to West Seattle.
Rachel Porter, who has worked as the director of membership and community relation at the Greater Federal Way Chamber of Commerce, has been selected as the new Executive Director at the West Seattle Chamber of Commerce, that chamber announced Aug. 9.
Porter brings “a wealth of leadership experience” to the position, the chamber said in a press release, including membership retention and skills in advocacy, volunteer management, programming and building public sector partnerships.
“As a 10-year resident of West Seattle, I am thrilled to work in the community that I love and care for deeply,” Porter said in a prepared statement.
The West Seattle Chamber’s hiring committee was unanimous in supporting Porter, according to the chamber.
Her accomplishments over eight years at the Federal Way Chamber include doubling membership to 400+ businesses and managing economic development initiatives, political candidate forums, marketing campaigns and the chamber’s comprehensive strategic planning process.
“Rachel’s depth of chamber experience will help us evolve and grow to support our business community as we navigate a competitive marketplace and other regional challenges,” Lindsay Wolpa, incoming West Seattle Chamber Board President, said in a prepared statement.
