The Federal Way Fitness 19 location closed its doors on Nov. 14. The gym and workout facility had served Federal Way residents since 2012.

All current members received LA Fitness memberships.

The gym, which was housed in a space connected to Fred Meyer, is now completely empty, the bare bones of what once was one of the busier gyms in the city. Members are left with a message on a piece of paper on both doors of their former gym.

The letter is addressed to “Valued Member” and informs the gym-goers that their membership will be honored by the LA Fitness at 35009 Enchanted Parkway S. in Federal Way. The letter also thanks members “for support and patronage of Fitness 19… It has been a privilege to serve your fitness needs.”

Announcing the closure, the message reads: “Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to permanently close this location… But your fitness is still our highest priority, and we want to ensure your ability to keep the commitment you have made to a healthy lifestyle”.

The letter tells Fitness 19 members that their membership would be accepted and grandfathered in at LA Fitness and the rates would stay the same, whether they paid for the year or month-to-month. Members of Fitness 19 who took personal training sessions will need to purchase new sessions at their new gym as well.

The letter closed, “We would once again like to say thank you, we have greatly appreciated the opportunity to help you in reaching your fitness goals.”
