The Federal Way Chamber of Commerce announced its new Federal Way First campaign, with an official kick-off on May 9.
Federal Way First is a city-wide initiative for creating a strong economy based on local businesses. Local economies have the most significant impact on day-to-day life, and the majority of jobs created are by local businesses, according to the Chamber.
Local businesses support local services and increase the tax base in Federal Way, helping to build schools and roads as well as strengthen public safety services, said Tom Pierson, Federal Way Chamber CEO.
“My goal is to really get this on people’s consciousness,” he said at the April 1 Chamber membership luncheon.
Local businesses who participate can display the Federal Way First sign at their place of business.
