Sept. 4: Membership Luncheon, Economic Resiliency
Economic resiliency refers to the ability of an economy to withstand, adapt to, and recover from various adverse events while maintaining its core functions and structures.
The Greater Federal Way Chamber of Commerce welcomes national economic development firm Executive Pulse to our monthly membership meeting for a presentation of findings from their Economic Resiliency Assessment. Founder and President Laith Wardi will present findings from focus groups as well as an assessment on economic risks, strategy development with resiliency goals, and recommendations, especially as it may relate to economic and/or workforce development initiatives.

Sept. 18: Innovation Economy and Placemaking Luncheon
How can Federal Way capitalize the opportunities in our food scene, environmental technology and the creative arts? A strong innovation economy acts as an engine for sustainable business growth, driving creativity, encouraging entrepreneurship and embracing cutting-edge technologies.
Nick Smoot, Executive Director of Innovation Collective, will present findings from their Innovation Economy and Placemaking Report. Smoot will share the results of focus groups and their analysis of the area, identifying start-up and high-growth industry sectors, as well as optimizing space utilization.
