Dongjin USA Corp. and its subsidiary, DJ Chemistry, recently opened their first U.S. office at 1st Avenue South and South 320th Street in Federal Way. The South Korean chemical company has arrived in America to market a product that saves energy while reducing wear and tear on machinery.

The company makes a synthetic engine oil additive called DJSMP (“super miracle plus”), which dramatically enhances the lubrication qualities of standard motor oil in vehicles. Statistics from the company’s tests suggest that DJSMP leads to greater fuel efficiency, cleaner engine emissions and decreased engine noise.

According to recently hired general manager Steve Hoskin, the incorporation of DJSMP in a vehicle engine’s standard oil can extend the time between oil changes by thousands of miles.

On Aug. 4, CEO Chang-young Lee and staff met with Federal Way Mayor Skip Priest and economic development director Pat Doherty at City Hall to discuss the company’s arrival in the U.S.
