Mirror staff reports:
Comcast opened its first new Xfinity Store in Western Washington at 7:30 a.m. Friday, March 23, in Federal Way.
In a media announcement, Comcast reports this is one of the first half-dozen cable stores of its kind in the nation.
The Federal Way store is 4,900 square feet with 10 employees — five more than the previous location at S. 324th Street and Pacific Highway.
The ribbon-cutting will take place at 31423 Pacific Highway S. (across the parking lot from JoAnn’s, H Mart and Barnes and Noble). Customers will get to handle gadgets like iPads without waiting in lines.
Guests include King County Councilman Pete von Reichbauer, Federal Way Mayor Skip Priest, representatives of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Federal Way, and Sabrina Register, host of Comcast Newsmakers. SpongeBob Squarepants will greet children of all ages from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
