Bally Total Fitness on 32818 1st Ave. S., which was recently changed to L.A. Fitness, is closing Dec. 8 after several years in business in Federal Way.
Fitness International LLC, an affiliate of L.A. Fitness International, has acquired the assets to 171 Bally Total Fitness clubs nationwide. An employee at the Federal Way location confirmed the closing but directed all other inquiries to the L.A. Fitness corporate office, which had not returned a call for comment as of press time Thursday. Bally membership at the Federal Way location has been transferred to the L.A. Fitness at 35009 Enchanted Parkway S.
Other locations in Washington are slated for closure include facilities in Kent, Tacoma and Olympia.
