The following is a sample from the Federal Way police public information log:

• At 3:24 a.m. Feb. 24, a woman reported to police that an unknown suspect broke five windows in her daughter’s boyfriend’s vehicle, parked outside the residence at 4627 S.W. 330th Court. Damage was estimated at $800.

• At 3:35 a.m. Feb. 24, unknown suspects broke the back windows of two vehicles parked side-by-side in stalls at the Maplewood Apartments, 4520 S.W. 321st St. Damage was estimated at $350 per vehicle.

• At 10:57 a.m. Feb. 24, a woman reported she had parked her car in an apartment stall the night before and discovered it that morning with the driver’s side window shattered and a large rock on the floor on the passenger’s side. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle. A Toyota truck parked next to the victim’s vehicle also suffered from a broken driver’s side window. There are no leads in this case.

• At 2:07 p.m. Feb. 24, a victim reported an unknown suspect had intercepted and cashed a check she had written and sent to her landlord in Gig Harbor. The victim’s credit union reported the cashed check, in the amount of $200, to the victim. The credit union said the check was cashed using a valid account, but would not provide the victim with further information about the person who cashed the check.

• At 2:45 a.m. Feb. 23 at 2036 S. 327th Lane, it was reported that two roommates got into an argument. Roommate one grabbed a box cutter and began cutting his forearm. He did not harm or threaten the other roommate. The police were called and the man was taken involuntarily to the hospital.

• At 4:16 a.m. Feb. 23 at 27900 Pacific Highway S., a witness reported seeing a suspect throwing rocks into a parked car in an apartment complex. Officers identified the suspect, who admitted to the crime and provided a written statement. The suspect stated she was throwing the rocks at the car because its owner routinely parked too close to her vehicle. Damage estimated at $2,000.

• At 9:37 a.m. Feb. 22, a woman reported to police that she was due to inherit a large sum of money and thought her husband was trying to kill her. She did not have a motive for thinking this, except that “he does what he’s told now.” The woman has made similar reports four times in the past.

• At 2:29 p.m. Feb. 22, a juvenile’s mother reported her son’s girlfriend’s mother sent him a cell phone in January. She reported the woman sent two more packages, without a return address and marked from a secret admirer, following this. The suspect’s mother thought it was inappropriate for his girlfriend’s mother to be sending him a cell phone without acquiring parent permission.

• At 7:45 p.m Feb. 21, a victim reported an unknown suspect fraudulently used her bank debit card while the card was in the victim’s possession. No suspects or leads have been identified.

• At 4:01 p.m. Feb. 21, a report was made that unknown suspects had forced entry into an apartment via a rear window. A mink coat, safe with miscellaneous paperwork and a diamond ring were discovered missing from the master bedroom. No fingerprints or witnesses were located.
