A week-long math extravaganza at Rainier View Elementary in Federal Way featured laughter, a game show, ice cream, parent involvement and a world record.
Along with all the fun, students solved a total of 50,000 math problems throughout the week.
As a reward for meeting their challenge and solving the 50,000 math problems, principal Kent Cross attempted to break a world record by wearing the most number of ties.
To the students’ delight, Cross wore 202 ties – crushing the current record of 150 ties.
