The top-ranked Federal Way Eagles stayed unbeaten in the South Puget Sound League and the state of Washington Tuesday with a 68-36 blowout of Rogers at home.

The Eagles (8-1 overall, 6-0 SPSL South) tallied 24 points in the first quarter and led 41-17 at the half. Federal Way had four players score in double figures, led by the 19 points of University of Washington-signee Talia Walton. Freshman Raven Benton finished with 16, Ty Burgess had 13 and Darah Huertas-Vining chipped in 10.

In other girls basketball action:

Decatur 52, at Peninsula 41 — The Gators opened their inaugural season in the SPSL 3A Division with an impressive win over the Seahawks Tuesday night in Purdy.

The win improved Decatur to 4-5 overall and 1-0 in the SPSL 3A. The Gators finished the 2009-10 season with a record of 2-17 overall.

Decatur fell behind early in the game, but battled back to outscore the Seahawks, 12-4 during the second quarter to take a 21-15 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Gators were led by 16 points from Alexis Cole and 12 from senior Kayla Lipston.

Tahoma 57, at Jefferson 52 — The Raiders’ fourth-quarter comeback wasn’t enough Tuesday night against the Bears. Jefferson trailed by 10 points entering the fourth quarter.

The Raiders (3-6, 2-4) couldn’t stop Tahoma’s Katie Buskey, who scored 32 of the Bears’ 57 points. Jada Piper led TJ with 18 points, Keryn Knight finished with 13 and Lexi Goranson chipped in 12.

at Spanaway Lake 62, Beamer 51 — Meghan Graf’s 21 points weren’t enough as the Titans (6-4, 3-3) lost on the road to Spanaway Lake Tuesday night in SPSL South action.

The Sentinels took the lead for good by outscoring the Titans 16-9 during the second quarter. Beamer’s Shyla Akins finished with 11 points.
