Paine’s Lane: Sharing, caring and loving | Column

By ADRIEL PAINE, Guest columnist

Hi there sharing, caring and loving people.

My name is Adriel Paine and I’m a writer for The Facts newspaper in the Central District of Seattle. The topics I always talk about in my articles have to do with positive information, insights, stories, sharing, caring, things to do or be done in the African American community, to better ourselves first in a positive way and uplift us so we can help in other communities.

I’ve been writing the Paine’s Lane article for over 10 years now, first in the 1990s, then now. I always include the words “sharing” and “caring” in all my articles so it will imprint on the minds of my readers to always share and care in their daily lives. If all people would take the time to share and care in their families and communities, it would spread to the cities, states and world. I focus on the African American community because I am a African American and most news stories about African Americans aren’t so positive stories. I try to bring positive stories about us, for us, to us so all can see that we do well and do positive things in our communities and other communities.

I use the word “unity” a lot in my articles because the African American community is not as unified as other communities and we need to work on that very hard. If we as African Americans became more unified, we would get a whole lot more positive situations done in our communities, such as more businesses, a better vote to help our communities, more capital in our communities, more love of self and we would be happier, healthier, spiritually stronger American citizens. I try to give good information on healthy foods, places to have fun, African American businesses, positive African American history, positive books to read and just plain things to do to have a happy, healthy, sharing, caring life.

If you are not African American and you are reading this article, don’t feel left out. Come and share, care, unify with us to make a better America for all Americans. If you have a sharing or caring story about an African American in your community, church or workplace, please feel free to reach me so I can share it with our communities, here in Federal Way and the Central District of Seattle. So stay in the right lane with Paine and share and care with a sharing, caring African American in your community, church or workplace so we as Americans can spread the love and feel good about ourselves.
