A group of students from throughout the Federal Way school district are working to bring awareness to racial stereotypes and motivate their peers, after attending a recent national conference of the Minority Student Achievement Network.
The students presented at the Nov. 25 board meeting about what they learned at the conference, and their plans for making presentations at middle and high schools throughout the district.
The students will travel throughout the district talking to their peers about the obstacles students of color face in schools, how to beat the opportunity gap and racial barriers and how to motivate students to achieve better for themselves.
