Decatur business team wins big at state conference

Adriana Blanco, Jordan Crahan, Mitchell Grant, Matthew Kim, Daisia Lawson, RJ Manuel, Phillip Park and Dain Yoshizumi represented Decatur High School and Federal Way at the Washington State Business Leadership Conference in Spokane last week.

Dressed in professional business attire from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, these students participated in leadership workshops and competed in multiple business-related events with the other 1,800 state competitors. This year, the Gators qualified for finals in performance events as the top 15 in the state: Phillip and Jordan in Community Service, Matthew in Business Presentation, Yoshi in Client Service, Jordan in Impromptu Speaking, the team of Matt, Jordan and Yoshi in Entrepreneurship and Daisia in Graphic Design.

The Entrepreneurship team made it to the stage as the top five, and they took third place, which takes them to nationals in Anaheim, Calif. Jordan Crahan took first place overall in Business Law.
