There were six vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Shooting: At about 2 a.m. in the 2200 block of SW 356th Street, there was evidence of a shooting located at the Hitching Post Saloon. Officers were unable to contact the apparent victim, who fled the scene after colliding with a parked vehicle.
Dec. 19
There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Gas station robbery: At about 7:10 a.m. in the 32000 block of 1st Ave. S., there was a gas station robbery report. Officers on the scene took recorded statements from witnesses and recovered video evidence.
Fake gun scare: At about 3:45 p.m., the principal of a Federal Way middle school called to report suspicious activity by one of their students. The principal said that a student was seen on social media waving what appeared to be a firearm. An officer visited the student’s home, but he was not home. When officers inquired about the firearm, the brother of the student said that the student painted the tips of toy guns black for social media videos. The brother showed the officer an example of one of these painted toy guns. The student’s parents were cooperative and advised they would rectify his behavior.
Reported shooting: At about 9:20 p.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers responded to a reported shooting between strangers. Investigations revealed probable cause for assault in the first degree. A K9 track was initiated, but a suspect was not located.
Dec. 20
There were three vehicle thefts reported, and four vehicles were recovered on this day.
Vehicular assault: At about 3:10 a.m. in the 2000 block of SW 336th Street, the listed suspect drove recklessly and caused a collision that resulted in substantial injuries to two occupants.
Manufacturing of an explosive device: At about 11:30 a.m. in the 32000 block of 9th Ave. S., officers responded to a report of a suicidal person with a weapon. Probable cause was established for intimidation with an explosive device and unlawful manufacturing of an explosive device. The suspect was arrested and booked without incident.
Robbery: At 1 p.m. in the 1700 block of S. 356th St., there was a report of an attempted robbery that had occurred at a gas station the day prior.
Robbery with a gun: At about 8:15 p.m. in the 1900 block of SW Campus Dr., there was a report that someone had been robbed with a gun the day prior. The victim had little information about the suspect to provide.
Threats against Verizon employee: At about 2:20 p.m. in the 2100 block of S. 320th St., an employee of Verizon Wireless reported that a customer made vague threats to him while attempting to resolve his billing issue. The customer stated, “You wanna go outside?” The incident remained verbal, and no direct threats were made during the incident. The customer was reached by phone, and police told him to conduct any further business at a different location per the employee’s request.
Bank robbery: At about 3:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of S. 316th St., the panic alarm at a bank was pressed. Moments later, an employee called in and advised that a male had passed a note to the bank teller threatening he had a bomb. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount, and he was not located.
Dec. 21
There were three vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Car stolen with gun inside: At about 5:40 p.m. in the 34000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., there was a report that a victim’s vehicle was stolen, along with a firearm from inside the vehicle.
Car shot at: At about 10:50 p.m. in the 33000 block of 22nd Ave. SW, there was a report that there had been a drive-by shooting. Upon viewing camera footage from a nearby residence, they observed what appeared to be two males looking through a vehicle. The footage then showed the males go back into their vehicle, then come back out and fire several rounds into one of the vehicles in the parking lot. The case is currently active.

$600 in beauty products stolen: At about 5:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of S. 320th St., there was a report that two male suspects dressed in dark clothing had concealed an estimated $600 of beauty products. The male suspects passed all points of sale and then left the store. It is unknown if they left on foot or in a vehicle.
