Lots of Halloween happenings this weekend in Federal Way.

Thriller: The Federal Way Farmers Market’s last day of the season is Oct. 26, and several Halloween-themed activities are planned for noon to 2 p.m., including free treat bags for ages 12 and under, a performance of the Thriller dance, costume contest with prizes, music and food trucks, and more. The market itself is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will re-open for the 2025 season on May 10.

Theatre for youngsters: “Stuart Little” is a TYA (Theatre for Young Audiences) show by Centerstage Theatre, and is adapted by Joseph Robinette, based on the book by E.B. White. This production features local actors Elliott Lovett as Stuart Little, Marisa-Clare Hissey as Mrs. Little, Nathan Cardenas as Mr. Little, Ashlyn Bagocius as Actor #3, and Rachel Ruby Squires as Actor #4. This show is directed by Niclas Olson and Sarah Ross serves as stage manager. Shows are 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Oct. 26 and Nov. 2, and 2 p.m. Nov. 3. Halloween Carnival: The Khalsa Gurmat Center is holding a Halloween Carnival at 5 p.m. Oct. 26. The carnival will include a magical show, face painting, carnival games, pizza, candy and more. The Khalsa Gurmat Center is located at 2835 S. 344th St. in Federal Way.

Tricks and Treats: From 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Federal Way Community Center, 876 S. 333rd St. Get ready for a spooktacular Halloween experience at the Federal Way Community Center’s Tricks n’ Treats event. It’s an evening filled with ghoulish delights, fun games and sweet treats. Admission is $6.

Fall Foliage Festival at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden: Enjoy a rainbow of colors and bushels of fun at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden’s Fall Foliage Festival Oct. 26-27. The large collection of Japanese maples, deciduous azaleas and other deciduous species never fails to produce a huge range of bright colors right before winter. Your last chance for outdoor color until next spring.

Hallow Roll at El Centro Skate Rink: Wear your costume and head to El Centro Skate Rink from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 28 with Night Ryder playing old skool, disco, house R&B and more. This event is for ages 18 and older. El Centro Skate Rink is located at 34222 Pacific Highway South in Federal Way.

Brooklake Master Plan Public Meeting: The second in a series of three public meetings that are a chance to provide feedback to shape the final Brooklake Master Plan. This meeting is 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Brooklake Community Center located at 726 S. 356th St., Federal Way.

H. David Kaplan Bench Dedication: H. David Kaplan will be honored with the dedication of a bench at West Hylebos Park at 10 a.m. Oct. 30. Kaplan made a positive difference in the Federal Way community as the city’s first parks commission chair, and was an advocate for the creation of the Community Center, Blueberry Farm, and other parks. West Hylebos Park is located at 411 S. 348th St. in Federal Way.

Pacific Islander Youth Cultural Roots Program: Calling all Pacific Islander youth — join PICA-WA from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 30 at the PICA-WA Youth Center located at 33710 9th Avenue South, Suite 3 in Federal Way. Learn a cultural dance from Auburn High School’s Pacific Islander Club and enjoy provided food.

Halloween Spooktacular Artistic Dance Skate Soiree: Looking for fun plans during the day on Halloween? From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 31, wear your costume and head to El Centro Skate Rink, located at 34222 Pacific Highway South in Federal Way.

Diversity in Law Enforcement Career Workshop: This free workshop is designed to address both real and perceived obstacles for those interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement. Lunch is provided and attendees will receive a free PST practice test and study guide and a test fee waiver. Runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 2, presented by local police agencies including the Federal Way Police Department.

Free Community Clothing Swap: Come grab amazing and new-to-you items while helping reduce textile waste from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 2 at the South King Tool Library, 1700 S. 340th St. in Federal Way. To register, head to uqr.to/FallSwap

Election Day: Drop your ballot by 8 p.m. Nov. 5. Voting help is available at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center (Banquet Hall) located at 650 SW Campus Drive in Federal Way on the following dates and times: Saturday, November 2, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 2; 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 4; 8:30 a.m. 8 p.m. Nov. 5.

City Council Meeting: 6:30 p.m. Nov. 6 in the council chambers (upstairs and to the left) at City Hall (33325 8th Ave. S.).

Family Movie Night: At 5:30 p.m. Nov. 8, bring the family to see the movie “Sing” at the Dumas Bay Centre, located at 3200 SW Dash Point Road in Federal Way. Tickets cost $2 and can be purchased at itallhappenshere.info/movienight.

St. Luke’s Theatre presents the Wizard of Oz: “The Wizard of Oz” is a beloved tale of life’s journey through family, friendship and self-discovery. This version has been scripted by comedy writers Greg Gamble and Lee Howard, and though not the version you’re familiar with, its parody, satire and abstract nonsense will leave you in stitches. Performances will take place on Nov. 8 through Nov. 10 and Nov. 15 through Nov. 17.

Federal Way Veterans Day celebration: Mark your calendar for the Federal Way Veterans Celebration at 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at the KOAM-TV Studios, 32008 32nd Avenue North. The event is sponsored by the City of Federal Way, Federal Way Kiwanis Club, Federal Way VFW Post 2886, and Federal Way Public Schools.
